Stick-Up

Um... Yeah, he was supposed to be a dwarf... But that didn't really work out.

Trusty Combo

These two never seem to fail me.

We've been playing some Warmachine again, preparing for a tournament next weekend.
I'm taking along my tried and true combo of Siege and Stormclad. They wreck face.

Chuck?

I don't know... It's just a quick character sketch.
Kinda looked like Chuck Norris to me when I finished.

Farewell

Just finished up Thunderspire Labyrinth, one of the pre-written 4e DnD campaigns.
It's time to move on to the next story and a new group of heroes.

So farewell Trotter's Independent Traders. It has been both an honour and a pleasure.
I'm sure we'll meet again soon enough.

Last week I placed an order with Maelstrom for a bunch of figures that I intend to paint up as DnD NPCs.
As a bit of a joke I entered my 'Special Packing Instructions' which read something like, "Please draw a dinosaur or a wizard on the box."

Here is the result.
It made my day.

Z-Pocalypse

I've got this terribly sore throat...
Couldn't help but imagine it as some kind of precursor to moaning for brains and all the rest.

Finally

We got our new video editing computer set up at work today.
It's quite the beast of a machine. A totem of black plastic and brushed metal.
It looks especially impressive when surrounded by all our plain Macs.

But the most exciting thing about this acquisition is that it has Adobe After Effects installed. Which means that I can FINALLY PUT MY DEGREE TO GOOD USE!
Animation was my main focus at Uni and now I can return to working on something I feel I'm really good at.

They Did What!?

I didn't have enough time yesterday to write something about what went down but let me catch you up on the story.

Early on Saturday morning my card declined when I tried to purchase a drink from a gas station for $2.70.
Having just had payday roll by less than a week ago I thought that surely there must be some kind of error and it will be sorted later that afternoon.
I was also participating in a Flames of War doubles tournament which kept me away from home and away from any internet access for the whole day. It wasn't until about six when I finally logged into my account and discovered that I had no money... Zero dollars.

Earlier in the week I had booked flights from Auckland to Seattle and back so that I can attend PAX later this year (AWESOME). However something went awry and the travel agency charged me twice. Remember how I said I had zero dollars before, that's kind of a lie. I have negative thirty-two dollars.

It's really no cause for alarm though. I've contacted the people who needed contacting and the problem is being resolved. How quickly? I have no idea. But it should be interesting to see how well I can survive being broke.

Introducing Lady Susannah Lupis

I thought it might be a good idea to start writing something in here. I realise that sometimes the imagery is not quite as self-explanatory as I think, especially of late.
This series of drawings features some important characters from a DnD campaign that I'm about to start running with a group of friends.
These last three are all leaders of important houses in the fictional city of Lyre, which I have posted drawings of in the last month. Tomorrow's drawing will finish off with the leader of House Braccus.
For those who are interested in my campaign it features the bustling city of Lyre and the surrounding region of Tyros. It is a unique mix of romanticised western themes and tried and true high fantasy cliche.
The creation of this world is taking up a lot of my time of late, which is why all my drawings have been on this subject. I'm not complaining of a lack of free-time, mind you, I love this shit.
Now I just have to hope that the players enjoy this world as much as I do.

The Full 3D Experience

I posted this on Thursday but have to repost it today because of the site crash.
I suspect this picture might even have been the cause.
